Cream of Mushroom Soup
Cream of mushroom is a popular soup in North America and also a common condensed canned soup, majorly sold by Campbell and Heinz Classic. This soup is not just an appetizer but also an essential ingredient for other dishes like casseroles, baked chops, mac &cheese, and many rice based dishes.
Ingredients
- chopped onion - 4 cups
- sliced fresh mushrooms - 3 cups
- butter - 2 tbsp
- all purpose flour - 4 tbsp
- cream - 1 cup
- chicken broth - 2 cups
- salt to taste
- nutmeg powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- pepper powder - 1/8 teaspoon
Instructions
- Take a pan and butter to it. Add chopped onions to it and sauté until tender. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
- Add in flour and stir well.
- Put chicken broth and stir continuously until the consistency thickens.
- Add cream with all the spices and heat until the soup thickens to the right consistency.
- Serve hot and enjoy
