Bread Pudding Recipe

This delicious bread pudding recipe makes a warming and comfortable dessert. It is easy to make and the flavour is wonderful.

The bread pudding includes milk, eggs, sugar, spices, bread, and maybe some raisins too, and then we are making a tasty vanilla sauce to go with it. Perfect after any kind of dinner, this is something the whole family is going to love, and the warm spices complement the sweet vanilla and creamy bread mixture really well.

Such a Warming Dessert

The bread pudding will take about 40 minutes to bake in the oven. When it is almost done, you can begin the sauce, so both the bread pudding and the sauce are ready to serve at the same time.

Divide the bread pudding between six serving bowls, spoon or pour some vanilla sauce on top and get ready for everyone to tell you how much they want you to make this amazing warm dessert again.




  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Beat the eggs in a bowl.
  3. Combine the butter and milk, then beat this mixture into the eggs with the sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  4. Stir in the bread cubes.
  5. Stir in the raisins too if you are using them.
  6. Spoon this batter into a greased 30 x 20 cm baking dish.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted 2½ cm from the edge comes out clean.
  8. Meanwhile, to make the sauce, put the cornflour, sugar and salt in a pan.
  9. Stir in the water until smooth.
  10. Bring the sauce to a boil, then cook, stirring all the time, until thick.
  11. This should only take a couple of minutes.
  12. Take the sauce off the heat and stir in the nutmeg, vanilla and butter.
  13. Serve the bread pudding warm with the vanilla sauce spooned over the top.
